Tournament
Rules
Everything you need to know before the first tee.
The Lady Tickler
The Mustache Rider
- 1This year you will have to earn your mulligan — 1 per round per player.
- 2Show up to the Captain's Invitational with a mustache. You must keep your "lip mop" for the entire two rounds of play to earn it.
- 3Mustaches only. No beard. No goatees.
- 4If you cannot grow a mustache but show at least an attempt, Brian or the Captain will judge the attempt and determine if it meets spec.
The Panic Button
The Hammer
Each team will be issued (3) HAMMERS per round — represented by a red or gold towel. Hammers can only be used if your team is LOSING the match. You must throw the hammer before anyone drives on any given hole. By throwing the hammer, you have made that hole worth double points in our Ryder Cup style of play. Hammers can also be stacked:
- 11 HAMMER — the hole is worth 2 points
- 22 HAMMERS — the hole is worth 3 points
- 33 HAMMERS — the hole is worth 4 points
Hammers can only be used when your team is losing the match. The featured matchup CANNOT USE hammers.
Squinty McSquint-Face
Poor Eyesight
As we all are getting older and sometimes we hit a ball that while all 4 players saw it hit the ground and deem as playable but it cannot be found. It will be acceptable if ALL 4 PLAYERS in a match agree that a ball can be dropped without incurring a shot penalty.
The Improvement Specialist
Hazard
This rule was updated after it was exploited last year — probably by someone on Team Admiral.
The one club length rule has been changed. If your ball lands in a hazard it must stay in the hazard — no closer to the hole. You may move your ball a club length, but it must remain in the same cut of grass, rough, fringe, or sand. You cannot use the club length rule to move your ball out of a hazard or onto the green from the fringe.
If a ball lands in the water it is considered out of bounds and is not subject to the one club length rule.
